Margaret Read MacDonald

is the author of over 50 books on folklore and storytelling topics, including the award-winning picture books Fat Cat and Mabela the Clever. She holds a Folklore Ph.D. and has taught storytelling at UW and Lesley University. MRM has offered "playing with story" workshops in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, New Zealand, Europe, Mexico . . . She delights in storytelling workshops for beginners . . . teachers, librarians, parents. Her school visits share and discuss world folktales and talk about author-illustrator collaboration in the art of the picture book.
